PALISADES REHAB CELEBRATES

GRAND RE-OPENING & FIFTEENTH YEAR IN CRESSKILL

CRESSKILL, NEW JERSEY  -- Palisades Rehab Center of Cresskill is celebrating its fifteenth year of providing physical and occupational therapy to Northern Valley and Rockland counties. The community is invited to join Palisades Rehab at the re-opening of its renovated facility on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 1-5 pm.  Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the new state-of-the-art treatment center, featuring larger therapy rooms; bright open workout areas; a spacious waiting room; and new equipment, as well as learn about the Wellness Center.

“Our guests can enjoy free sample classes from our Wellness Center throughout the afternoon: Yoga (Chair and Mat); Pilates; Stretch & Flex; and Feldenkrais,” said Margie Goldstein, Director of the Wellness Program.  “Additionally, our skilled team of therapists will be discussing topics including Protecting Your Back; Choosing the Proper Footwear; Helping your Arthritic Hands, and Aging in Place.  Throughout the afternoon, we will also be offering Functional Screenings, which help to determine one’s risk for injury or falls.  And, of course, there will be lots of free food.”  Attendees will receive one complimentary assessment for themselves or a friend.

Marc Favieri, Director of Physical Therapy, is passionate about programs designed for athletes and will be on hand to discuss the Pitchers Performance Program and Injury Prevention for the Female Athletes, both of which are offered to groups and individuals.  Marc brings personal experience to his programs, as he was recently inducted to the Gettysburg College Hall of Athletic Honor as “arguably one of the best pitchers to ever take the mound at Gettysburg and the only All-American in school history.”

“Our goal is to treat our clients holistically and improve their ability to perform daily activities that are meaningful and relevant to them,” added Deborah Longest, Director of Occupational Therapy and Certified Aging in Place Specialist.  “We strive to meet the needs of seniors in our community through our Aging in Place Home Safety Assessments and Older Driver Safety Assessments.  As occupational therapists we help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do… we promote ‘Skills for Living.’”
