Marc D. Favieri
MPT |
Marc
is a graduate of Touro College where he received a Bachelors
of Science and Masters degrees in Physical Therapy, as well
as Bachelors of Arts degree in Health Sciences from
Gettysburg College.
While at Gettysburg College Marc was captain of the baseball
team and was chosen to be on the 1990 All-American team as a
pitcher. He has
worked in a wide range of physical therapy settings
including acute care trauma, skilled nursing, home care as
well as outpatient orthopedic facilities. Marc is the cofounder
of Palisades Rehabilitation Center which was opened in 1997.
He has attended numerous continuing education courses in
many areas such as manual therapy, therapeutic modalities,
and exercise training.
Marc has a special interest in performance
enhancement and injury prevention for the young athlete with
a special interest in the throwing athlete. Marc also has a
special interest in rehabilitation of the golfer and has
earned a certificate in the Back to Golf program. Marc is Past President
of the Cresskill/Demarest Rotary Club where he is currently
an active member.
Marc resides in Ridgewood with his wife Jennifer and 3
children and enjoys coaching baseball and football.

Deborah M. Longest
MS, OTR/L |
Deborah received her Bachelor of Science degree from George Washington
University in Human Services and Counseling, and her Master’s Degree in
Occupational Therapy from College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia
University. Seeing the need for community outpatient therapy, she opened
Palisades Rehabilitation Center of Cresskill in 1997. Her areas of interest
include Cognitive Rehabilitation, Home Safety & Modifications, and Older Driver
Safety. She is a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) through the National
Home Builder’s Association, and a Certified Car-Fit Instructor through the
American Occupational Therapy Association. She began her career working in
Mental Health at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, followed by home-care
with Englewood Hospital and Bergen Community Home Care and Skilled Nursing
Facilities, such as Care-One at Dunroven. She supports community activities
through the Demarest Schools, Cresskill-Demarest Rotary Club and St. Therese
Church. She and her husband Greg enjoy raising their three children.

Jennifer S. Favieri

Jennifer is a graduate of Gettysburg College where she earned her Bachelor of
Arts degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy at
UMDNJ/Rutger’s University. Jennifer opened Palisades Rehabilitation Center of
Cresskill in 1997 and oversees Medicare billing compliance. She has over 14
years of experience in orthopedic and neurological care in a variety of both
inpatient and outpatient settings such as UMDNJ/University Hospital in Newark,
NJ, home health care for Englewood Hospital and Valley Home Care, as well as
skilled nursing and assistive living facilities. She enjoys working with the
adult population and strives to help her patients reach their maximum functional
level and developed the “Palisades Rehab Women’s Health Program.”

Rachel Erlich
MA, OTRL |
Rachel received her Bachelor of Science degree
from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and her Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy
from New York University. She has over twenty-seven years experience specializing in Hand
Therapy, treating hand injuries such as fractures, tendon lacerations, burns, shotgun wounds,
tendinitis, arthritis and sprains. She also fabricates static and dynamic splints. Quality
care and treatment goals are set for each patient individually and aimed to bring functional
level of maximum ability as fast as possible. Rachel enjoys biking with her husband on the
Palisades Parkway and raising her three children who are all currently in college.

Margie Goldstein
MA, PT |
Margie received her Bachelor of
Science degree in Physical therapy at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY and
her Master’s Degree in Motor Control from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Margie began her career at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange
and worked as a supervisor and clinical coordinator. She traveled around the
country teaching courses on motor learning and consulting on therapeutic
intervention for neurologically impaired individuals. She is also a certified
childbirth educator and doula. Margie has been working in Bergen County for 20
years and has been working at Palisades Rehabilitation since 2006. She has
recently translated her passion for fitness and exercise into developing the
“Palisades Rehab Fitness Challenge” where she promotes individual fitness
assessments, exercise classes and educational lectures.

Vincent DiPersia
DPT |
Vincent received his Doctorate of
Physical Therapy degree from Touro college where he graduated Summa Cumma Laude
and received the Momonnities award for his graduating class. Since 1998 he has
been working with Palisades Rehabilitation, while also maintaining his Black
Belt status in Tae Kwon Do and teaching classes with an emphasis on the special
needs child. In the July 2009 issue of the Journal of Body Movement and Therapy
his research article on manual therapy was published. He is currently working
towards his certification in Functional Manual Therapy (CFMT) through the
Institute of Physical Art. He has successfully launched the “Palisades Rehab
Saturday Treatment Program.”

Rashida Cassubhai |
Rashida has more than 35 years of experience
as a physical therapist. Since 1974, she has worked in
settings ranging from acute care, sub-acute, nursing home,
home-care, early intervention, and out-patient therapy.
After receiving her degree in Karachi, Pakistan, Rashida
spent a portion of her early career in Singapore before
returning to Pakistan to work at a well-established clinic
where she soon established herself as the preeminent on-site
physical therapist. In 1988, she moved to the United States
and joined the staff of Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ.
There, she worked closely with Dr. Joel Lehrer, a renowned
ENT, to launch the Vestibular Rehab Program. Aside
from her clinical practice, she also served as a supervisor
and Acting Director of Holy Name's rehab department. Rashida has been associated with Palisades Rehabilitation
Center for the last 11 years. During this time, she has
worked significantly with infants through the Early
Intervention Program. Since 2003, she has also been a
consultant with ARC of Bergen/Passaic, catering to needs of
physically and mentally challenged adults. In 2006, Rashida
became a certified Feldenkrais practitioner - a method that
focuses on the relationship between movement and thought.
Rashida has incorporated this method to her traditional
neuro-rehab approach, which, in turn, has benefitted
patients of all ages and diagnosis by providing them with a
more holistic and self-directed therapy regimen. In her
spare time, Rashida is an active member of the Zonta
International Club and enjoys Tai Chi. |

Ellen Breger
MA, PT |
Ellen is a graduate of SUNY Upstate Medical Center where
she earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She continued her
education at NYU earning her MA in Kinesiology-the study of the principles of
mechanics and anatomy in relation to human movement. Formerly she was the
Assistant Chief Physical Therapist at New York Hospital and worked at several
private physical therapy offices in NY and NJ before joining Palisades
Rehabilitation Center in 2001. Ellen has specialized training in the
biomechanics of the foot as it relates to the complex relationship to the lower
extremity. With this knowledge she can evaluate the need for custom foot
orthotics. During the past 30 plus years of practicing Physical Therapy Ellen
has taken numerous continuing education courses in a wide variety of areas of
Physical Therapy including Manual Therapy. Currently her caseload consists of
adult out-patients with orthopedic and neurologic problems.

Laurie A. Braunstein
MA, OTR/L |
Laurie graduated from Alfred
University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Gerontology and Psychology and New
York University where she received her Master of Arts degree in Occupational
Therapy. She began her career at Kessler Rehabilitation in East Orange,
NJ. In the early 1990’s Laurie ventured out in to the pediatric population. She
has provided Occupational Therapy services for children in over 10 different
school districts throughout Bergen & Hudson Counties, while at the same time has
provided services to the pediatric clientele at Palisades Rehabilitation Center
since its doors opened in 1997. Laurie has extensive training & experience with
handwriting issues, sensory integration dysfunctions, perceptual & cognitive
impairments, fine & gross motor control deficits, and the Autistic population.
Laurie has provided professional in-service training workshops on the
“Handwriting Without Tears” program, and has helped implement this program into
school systems. More recently she received training in Yoga for the special
needs population. Her current venture is training her new puppy to become a
therapy dog so she can incorporate that median into her practice.
